Welcome
to Christendom's Alumni E-Zine. If you have information that
you would like to share with your fellow alumni, send it to
Tom McFadden at tmcfadden@christendom.edu.
The
Grapevine Online will be uploaded, depending on the amount
of information sent to the editor, every month. It will have
a couple of sections (when information is available), namely,
Class Notes (your basic information on alumni babies,
weddings, jobs, etc.), Calendar of Events, and Links
to various recent stories about Christendom College and/or
the Alumni of Christendom.
Of
course, all comments, suggestions, and information should
be sent to tmcfadden@christendom.edu.

CCAA
President Runs Off with Treasurer -- Greg
Polley ('00) married Anna Wright ('00) on June
22 in Memphis, TN. They are now living happily ever after
in Fairfax, VA. Greg will still act as CCAA President and
Anna will continue her position at Treasurer.
Christopher
Young ('97), no longer working
in the technology industry despite what the Admissions Office
says, is in Chicago this summer assisting with the NOW v.
Scheidler case. The US Supreme Court recently agreed to hear
Joe Scheidler's appeal -- and to decide whether racketeering
laws (RICO) may be used against peaceful protesters. Since
the Supreme Court hears only about 1% of the approx. 7,000
cases that are sent up on appeal each year, and since there
have to be at least 4 votes to overturn in order to take the
appeal, there is reason to hope. Please pray for the success
of this case, which will likely be heard this fall, and also
for the Scheidler family, who stand to lose their home (among
other things) if the Supreme Court does not overturn the lower
court decision. If you'd like to contact Chris, e-mail him
at cpyoung@avemarialaw.edu.
Teresa
Grace Shunk, daughter of Chuck Shunk ('98), and Anita (Blythe)
Shunk ('01), just turned the big 1 on June 29th, the feast
of Sts. Peter and Paul. She does baby things. Chuck does daddy
things such as work for Prescience, do a ton on Legion of
Mary things (Have YOU ever thought about joining the Legion?
:-), and go to NDGS. He will receive his Masters in Scripture
from the same in August. Anita does mommy things such as various
cleaning and grading Seton. They are currently living in the
great bubble world of Front Royal. Their future location of
existence will be determined by what Chuck does next as far
as Doctoral programs/teaching jobs go.
Tom
and Carol Ehart announce the birth of their third child,
Micah Matthew Ehart, born on May 30th in the late pm (thus
making it the vigil of the feast of the Visitation of Mary).
Micah was 7 lbs 14 oz and 21.25" long. Everyone is doing
fine and big brother Judah Joseph (3 in August) and big sister
Lily Cecilia (15 months as of July 4) are loving on their
new brother with enthusiasm. The Ehart's live in Frederick,
MD. Tom is the Marketing Manager of Publishing for Government
Institutes, a Rockville-based Environmental and Occupational
Safety and Health publisher and seminar company. He's still
wondering why God put him at this company other than health
insurance. If anyone knows the answer please let him know.
Carol is a full time mom and homemaker and sometimes wonders
how she ever managed 400 volunteers at Suburban Hospital prior
to parenthood. Both are still wondering how God placed them
in a town that even the locals call Fredneck.
Chris
(98) and Sarah (attended 96 - 98) Muro announce the birth
of their second child on Saturday, June 15th, 2002. Katalina
Bernadette was born at 5:56 am, weighed 7 lb 14 oz, and was
20.5 in long. The birth was a waterbirth in the Muro's new
home! Eldest daughter, Isabella Rose, is thrilled to have
a new sister to play with. For a rendition of the awesome
waterbirth story from Sarah, or just to get in touch with
the Muros, feel free to send an e-mail to sarah_muro@hotmail.com.
Through
God's grace, David JFM Greiner will finally be returning
to the immediate Christendom family. He's taken a position
with CANA Communications in Front Royal as their Copywriter
/ Utility Infielder, and he's absolutely tickled about the
whole thing. He officially takes up his duties on August 1st,
but he'll be available for tea or a glass of wine starting
the week before. He'll be residing at Maison Walter in the
Shores and has made a verbal commitment to cut the lawn.
Jim
Grumblatt and his wife announce the birth of Timothy James
on May 15. He was 10 lbs. 5 oz.- #5. (see picture of big baby
on left)
Tom
Longua was ordained to the diaconate on 29 June for the
Fraternity of St. Peter in
Lincoln, Nebraska by Bishop Bruskewitz. Ordination to the
priesthood scheduled for June 2003. He's now the Reverend

Halyna Anezka Charba was born on Thursday,
the 6th of June to parents John and Michelle (Dawson) Charba.
She shares her birthday with her cousin Irene Brewster. She
was 7 lbs, 3 oz. Their smallest baby! She is 20 1/2 inches
long. She is named after St. Helen (the Eastern European spelling
and pronunciation. Helena is how it would look spelled in
English form. Her middle name is for her Great Grandmother
Charba. Anezka is Czech for Agnes. There was a Grandma Agnes
on the Dawson siide of the family too, so it is very much
a family name. Halyna's siblings love her to pieces.

17th, 2002 in Minnesota. A celebration of the sacred nuptials
will follow the ceremony in the proper Irish fashion.

and Andrea (Flagg - class of '92) Stewart are expecting
their 5th child in February.
An
update on the life of Andrew and Julie (Fox) Fier (CLASS
OF 2001): On May 26th, we celebrated our One Year Wedding
Anniversary by revisiting our honeymoon getaway in Duluth,
MN on the North Shore of Lake Superior. In June we bought
our first house, located in Woodbury MN, (a suburb of St Paul)
which has been an exciting and stressful adventure. Andrew
recently received a promotion at his current job where he
is a Rental Sales Representative at AARCEE Tent and Party
Rental. Julie just started a new job as an Assistant Manager
at Galyan's Trading Company and really enjoys it. We both
have been busy exploring the 70 miles of paved bike/rollerbladding
trails near our new home, which keeps us busy on the warm
summer nights. Here is our new address, phone and email: Andrew
and Julie Fier, 7965-G Forest Blvd., Woodbury, MN 55125, (651)-714-9358

Thanks
to the efforts of the Alumni Association's fearless leader,
Greg Polley (right), there are nice, attractive, like-other-school

for sale at the moment. Gather your funds together and put
them into a small piggy bank or a hard to get at container
and break it open around Homecoming time (Oct. 12-13) when
these beautiful pieces of clothing will be made available.
Orders
will be taken prior to Homecoming.
