Annemarie Christine DancauseHaving gotten married in Rhode Island on June 30, 2001, Dan (Philip) and Katherine (Katie Mitchell) Dancause recklessly quit their financial and teaching jobs, respectively, and fled the country to embroil themselves in the German language in the land of Austria. Fear not: they have emerged relatively unscathed, with nary a change to their overall monolinguality. At the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family, located beside Steubenville's and amidst Ave Maria's Austrian campus, each of them earned exactly .5 of a Master's degree in Theology. The other half will be pursued indefinitely, as all academic pursuit is currently superseded by the presence of a baby who cares nothing for intellectual striving beyond how to get one's whole fist in one's mouth while expending as much drool as possible. Annemarie Christine surprised her parents twice: first, by the dreadful flu that turned out to be morning sickness, and secondly, by making an entrance to the world tow months early, being born on June 5, 2002. The tiny 4.5 babe has blossomed into a 21 punder whose wriggling bulk her devoted mother totes about their apartment off Roger Williams Park in Cranston, while Dan works with 401 (k) plans for Putnam Investments in MA. They deeply miss all their old CC friends and acquaintances, and invite anyone remotely in the area of 35 Bartlett Ave., Cranston, RI to give them a call/stop by (401) 941-3949 or dancause@hotmail.com.

Neva Howes (2000) and Rodolfo (Rudy) Hernandez were married Dec. 28, 2002 at St. Augustine's Church in Providence, Rhode Island. Rudy is an Army Reservist and on January 13th he was required to report for active duty and will be going to the Mid-east within the next month or so, please keep him in your prayers. Neva will be graduating from the Ave Maria School of Law in May, Rudy was also a student at the law school but is unsure when he will be able to complete his studies. Neva can be reached by e-mail at nevahowes@hotmail.com.

Anastasia CervantesJoe and Torey Cervantes are proud to announce the arrival of Anastasia Marie Cervantes on 12/23/02 (after 3 days of labor - ouch!). She weighed in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is a very happy, healthy, and beautiful (no bias here!) baby. You can contact the Cervantes family at josephcervantes@hotmail.com.

Margaret (Healy) Pickard '84 welcomed Mary (Heffron) Klein '88 back to Virginia Beach after the Kleins spent 3 years in Oklahoma. Margaret and Mary are part of a Catholic Moms Book Club in Virginia Beach, and are the only Christendom alumni they know of in Tidewater, since Mike and Mary Lucas moved to Alabama last summer. Margaret's 4 children and Mary's 5 children are renewing their acquaintances, as well.

Chris Kopeck is afraid.

Bevlin Cleveland married Joe Lyons on January 11, 2003.

News from Bjorn Lundberg: 30 Deacons, Priests and Seminarians from St. Charles Seminary met the Holy Father on January 4th (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton) after having Mass in the morning with Archbishop John Foley. They had an awesome trip. Back in Philly, the semester has started up well enough. During his first day of teaching Fifth grade religion class, a kid threw up all over his desk just as Bjorn was starting the Rosary. One certainly learns about crisis management, flexibility, and pedagogical methods while cleaning a Rosary out of this morning's snack and juice.

Stephanie (Granger) Weaver is 4 months pregnant (first baby) - due the beginning of July. She and her husband and baby will be moving the end of July to go to gradschool. They are not sure which school yet: Univ. GA, Univ. VA, Univ.Maryland, Florida State or Chapel Hill.

New Year Greetings from Chris and Sarah (Stafki) Muro! Chris is in his second semester of graduate school at the University of Central Florida. He is also staying active politically and keeping his eyes on future campaign opportunities. Chris and Sarah belong to a growing parish, the Chapel of the Holy Family, where they have met some other young families they frequently get together with. Chris, Sarah and their two daughters, Isabella and Katalina, (see picture,) look forward to seeing everyone at Homecoming this Fall!

Deacon Tom Longua is now in KC, Kansas doing pastoral work before ordination to the priesthood on June 7th in Lincoln, NE (come if you can). He finished his MA in Church History at CUA in December.

Guy and Mary Kate (Jensen) Smith are proud to announce the birth of their little baby boy, Damian Joseph. He was introduced to them on January 28 and came into the world weighing 7 lbs 11 ozs. He joins Christina, Bernadette, and Dominic to help make their ives a little brighter!

Ted ('00) and Emily (Foushee) Eidem ('00) are proud to announce the birth of Laura Catherine, born on January 31st at 1:01 pm. She weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz. and measured 20 inches long. Mom, Dad and big sister Mary (17 months) are all doing very well. Pictures coming soon...

Stephen and Julie Asam Monette are now stationed at the Naval Station in Norfolk, VA, living in Hampton (we were in Colonial Beach, VA) and are expecting a baby in September. We are grateful for any and all prayers. :) Oh, and Stephen is being sent overseas to the Gulf, so prayers are due in that quarter, too. ;) If you are in the area, be sure to stop by and visit.

Tonu and Diane (Blaney'92) Tobias had their 5th baby on Jan 25. His name is Thomas Richard. He weighed 9 lbs,4oz and was 20.5 inches long. He is perfectly healthy and such a wonderful Blessing to their family!

Here's a picture of their children taken at the hospital: Andy 7, Markus 6, Joseph 4, Elisabeth 2 and Thomas 14 hours old!

John and Gretchen Bowes have been blessed with a new addition. Little Matthew Lawrence was born on Dec 19, weighed in at 7 pounds 2 oz and was 19 inches long. His big brother Dominic loves him to pieces as witnessed in the attached picture. They took a family vacation to NYC in November and had a great time. John is looking at upgrading to Transport 2nd Pilot this month and will hopefully pick up Aircraft Commander in a year. In a year and a half they finish up their tour there and will hopefully going to Quantico, VA, for a year of school.

An interesting story about Tim and Joan Parker: http://www.catholicmil.org/html/testimony_read.html#Parker
