Gwen
Adams is studying at the Angelicum and finishing her Master's
Thesis "Fairy-Tales, A Genre Contemplating the Sacramental
Nature of Created Matter." This is through the Catholic
Studies Department of the University of St. Thomas, MN. In
the photo she is giving His Holiness one of those Sacred Heart
Badges. Viva Il Papa!
At
the March for Life, some of the '06 ladies had a moment to
reunite! With Joanie Watson and Sarah Rolfes
visiting from
Steubenville,
and Chrissie Walsh, Claire Beller, and
Michele Winslow in the area, they joined in the joy
of LIFE and of old friends with the Christendom student body.
Dominic
Sayler is at North Dakota State University getting his
masters. He also teaches English 120 at the college. He even
has his own office. He is still dating Bridget Clarke and
he spent his Christmas break up in CT visiting her.
Jessica
and Jacob Meza (both '05) say hello from the icy mid-west
and let everyone know that we are still alive and well. Jacob
will be completing his MBA this semester and has done extremely
well in all of his classes! Rose Marie is growing so quickly
and is enjoying her new found ability to roll around everywhere.
Jessica loves being a mommy and is surprised everyday by the
new things that Rose Marie discovers. We all really enjoy
the company of Zach Akers with whom we can discuss
the good old days of life at Christendom College!
If anyone is in the Kansas area, please feel free to stop
by. God Bless!!!
On
January 20th, 2007 Ashley Filiault, '05, accepted a
proposal of marriage from Alex Scrivener, also of '05.
She was stunned by the timing of his proposal, coming as it
did after his energetic rendition of "One Bourbon, One
Scotch, One Beer" at a large party, but overcame her
surprise sufficiently to agree to his offer of marriage. The
wedding will be in Massachusetts on August 11th. After an
extended honeymoon, the couple will settle in northern Virgina.
Ann
Marie (Popielarz) and Deo Read are happy to announce the
birth of Kieran Braxton Read. He was born on January 11th
and weighed in at 9 pounds and was 20 3/4 inches long. He
joins his sister Charlotte (20 months old) and brother Deo
(3 years old).
An
update on the life of Joseph Kosten. He's getting married!!!
Just kidding, He's still studying in Rome and living the life
as the new International Man of Leisure? (Sounds like
a strong candidate for the title). Currently he is taking
exams Italian style, and getting ready for Acton Institutes
next conference in Rome. Visit their website www.acton.org
for info on this organization. Kosten is finding that Italian
women are beautiful, ruins are rather interesting, and Alphonse
Pinto is hysterical. Joseph plans on staying in Rome at least
another 3 years to finish his doctoral work in Social Communications.
After that, probably Law School. Joseph is very excited for
Nate and Jess and will be attending the nuptials in
May!
Merry
Late Christmas from Matt and Theresa (Bush) Pierce,
along with their children, Anna, Jacob, Lucy, and Joey Pierce
(see photo at right). Since today is the feast of the Presentation,
they got their Christmas wish to you all just in time!
Adam
Marchand '06 started classes on January 15th at the Vermont
Police Academy. When all is said and done he'll be a Vermont
State Trooper sometime in June.
Ben
& Theresa (Ford) Fisher welcomed their newest son
Nathaniel Stephen Benedict Fisher (see photo at left) on January
12, 2007. Big brothers Nicholas (3) and Zachary (17mos) are
relatively impressed with the newcomer.
Please
welcome Nadia Rose Flippen born on January 7 at 2:20 AM. She
was actually born partly in the Flippen's van and the
rest in the ER of Fauquier Hospital. She couldn't wait to
enter the world. She was 8 lbs. 9 oz. and was soon greeted
by her older brother, Sebastian, who is now 4 years old and
her
older
sister, Genevieve, who is now two years old (see photo at
right). They are delighted to have her and clamor for her
to be present at all times whether it be the breakfast table
or placed in her bouncy seat to be loved, fussed and fought
over. Ironically, Sebastian broke his leg a few days after
Mommy and baby came home from the hospital (notice the proud
display of his cast in the photo) but is getting around quite
nicely and should be cast-less in a week or so.
On
October 23, 2006 Michael and Alysha (Cimprich) Chambers
welcomed their daughter Abigail Marie Chambers into the world.
She was a tiny 6lbs 13oz when she was born but by Christmas
she was already 13lbs. She has her daddy's appetite! Mom,
Dad and baby are doing well and are living in NJ having moved
right before Abby-Marie was born. Alysha can be reached at
her new email address: mrschambers924@yahoo.com.
She would love to get back in touch with those Christendomites
whom she hasn't heard from in awhile.
Rick
Sadowski began his internship at the Leadership Institute
about three weeks ago. It has been going great and is definatly
his first step to becoming the president of the United States,
as his class voted him most likely to become. He is in the
Broadcast Journalism School department and is very busy doing
various projects in prepartion for C-PAC and their upcoming
school in March. Living in Arlington is great and he hopes
to see some friends in the area very soon for a beer or two.
Rick also wanted everyone to know that the story about him
in last month's Grapevine was a case of mistaken identity.
His distant cousin, Ron Sadowski, was the one involved with
Boise State's victory.
