Theresa Jalsevac

Admissions Counselor

Hello! My name is Theresa Jalsevac and I work as a counselor in Christendom College's Admissions Office.

I grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada, along with my 5 older brothers, and my 2 sisters (one younger, one older). Growing up with two wonderful parents, our Catholic faith and our family were always the center of our lives. My parents were also heavily involved in the pro-life movement in Canada, and thus a big part of our lives growing up was attending and volunteering at various pro-life events. Our parents valued a good education, and therefore worked hard and made sacrifices so that we could attend good Catholic high schools.

Our family was first introduced to Christendom College years ago when my oldest brothers were looking for colleges to attend. The reverence of the celebration of the Mass at Christendom was one of the biggest factors that convinced my parents to send my brother here, as well as the faith filled, welcoming people they met during their visits. Since then, three of my siblings have attended Christendom and it has proved to be a great blessing, especially since two of the three have married fellow Christendom graduates in Christendom's Chapel of Christ the King.

Throughout high school, despite applying to other colleges, Christendom was always my top choice for college. I didn't have a specific career path in mind, but I knew I loved history and wanted to study it further. Having visited the campus numerous times while my siblings were attending, I was always impressed by the people I met and the supportive, Catholic community. Coming from a big city, I also loved the beautiful campus. But, aside from those aspects, one of the biggest deciding factors was Christendom's Rome program. I had a love for traveling, history, art and my faith, and the Rome program sounded like the perfect combination of all four.

Having graduated in May 2013 with my BA in History, I can say that coming to Christendom was one of the best choices I ever made. I loved my classes and my teachers, and was especially impressed by the history department. I made wonderful friendships, enjoyed being a member of the volley-ball team all four years, experienced life changing mission trips, and spent three of the best months of my life in the eternal city, getting to experience Easter 2012 with Pope Benedict XVI. Through all of these experiences, and through the availability of the sacraments on campus, Christendom has helped me grow in love for my faith and a desire to live it more fully.

I am happy to now be working as an admissions counselor at Christendom! If you have any questions, or wish to visit the school, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you.

God bless,
