Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a relaxing Christmas break and Happy New Year. Now it’s time to get back to classes, sports, and friends, but most important…”what will they be serving in the dining hall today?”

I want to go over the changes we made last semester concerning meals. These are changes that the student body asked for and we listened. Of course the change in the dinner hour seems to be met with positive approval. We have extended the hot breakfast till 9:00, with Continental Breakfast still ending at 9:30. The Smoothies on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning have been a big hit.

A welcome addition has been the “Grab and Go” sandwich choices offered Monday through Friday. These are meant for anyone who doesn’t have time to stand in line to get a sandwich made, not as an additional sandwich. We welcome any requests, comments and additions via the comment board and also through the Student Food Service Council.

For those of you who are not aware of the Student Food Service Council, we meet once a month to discuss any concerns, comments, compliments or requests from the student body. Please see your class representative to find out when our next meeting is. One thing that has been brought up several times at the meeting is whether the kitchen could incorporate their parents or grandparents recipes into our menu choices. The answer is “We would love to”. Just submit a recipe to me via email at dparanzino@christendom.edu and I will add it to our menu. If the parents want to send me a recipe, that would be great. I want the students to feel like they are getting the comfort foods of home.
