When you take part in the three-month Semester in Rome Program, you are not enrolled in another college’s program. Rather, you are taught and supervised by Christendom College faculty and staff. Additionally, you take classes, go on retreats and tours, and eat meals solely with the group of approximately 40 of your fellow Christendom College students. So it really is a Christendom in Rome Program.
- THEO 301 Moral Theology (Fall core course)
- THEO 302 Apologetics (Spring core course)

You stay at the Residence Balduina, located just north of St. Peter’s, but a world away from the tour buses. The Residence is a 15-minute bus ride to the Vatican. It is in a quintessentially Roman neighborhood, complete with shops, restaurants, coffee bars, parks, and the Rome Observatory. The Residence consists of spacious apartments that provide services like a hotel, such as daily cleaning and weekly change of bed and bath linens. Each apartment has its own bathroom and balcony and is equipped with large kitchen facilities.
Classes are held at the Instituto Maria SS Bambina, a convent situated directly next to St. Peter’s. You can listen to the weekly Wednesday Papal audience from their balcony that overlooks St. Peter’s Square.
In addition to the airfare and the normal tuition and room/board costs of attending Christendom, you pay a nominal “Rome Program” fee of approximately $1,600; not the normal added expenses of $2500 - $4000 charged by other colleges. Our commitment to a reasonably priced international experience aims to make the Rome Program attainable for all students.
