Mr. Jesse Dorman Dean of Student Life Jesse Dorman is a 2001 graduate of Gannon University who has been Christendom's Dean of Student Life since 2008. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Higher Education Administration at The George Washington University. Jesse oversees: athletics, chaplaincy, student formation, conduct, housing, special programs, mission trips, health services, Rome program, student activities, and career development. Ms. Amanda Graf Director of Residence Life Amanda Graf graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2008 with a degree in print journalism. Following college, she served as a full-time Catholic missionary with FOCUS, the Fellowship of University Students, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Rev. Donald Planty Rev. Donald Planty Rev. Donald Planty (or affectionately known to students and staff as Padre) is the Head Chaplain, assigned to the College by Arlington Diocese's Bishop Paul Loverde in the summer of 2010. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, receiving an M.Div. in 1992, the year he was ordained a deacon, and an M.A. in Theology in 1993. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, in 1993. Fr. Planty studied at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome, Italy, to prepare for the diplomatic service of the Holy See; at the same time, he studied for and received a J.C.D. (Doctor of Canon Law) degree from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He worked as the Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 2000-2002. In 2002 Fr. Planty left the diplomatic service of the Holy See to return to pastoral work in his diocese. Fr. Planty is fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian, and enjoys sacred art, an eclectic variety of music, hiking, frisbee, cooking, classic cinema, and travel. Contact Fr. Miss Caitlin Bowers Miss Caitlin Bowers Hailing from Washington State, Caitlin graduated from Christendom with honors in 2009. Both prior to and following her attendance at Christendom, Caitlin was heavily involved in fundraising and development for schools, Christian ministries, and pro-life organizations. As the Director of Student Activities, Caitlin oversees all club and student events in addition to the Student Activities Council. Mr. Mike Mochel Mr. Mike Mochel Mike Mochel has over 30 years of experience including both military service and work as a consultant to government program offices. His extensive background in defense acquisition management includes creating and implementing training courses focused on the basics of program management as well as 11 years of experience teaching program management and leadership to senior government and industry acquisition professionals. Mike holds a degrees in Physics, Business Administration, and Human Resource Development. He is currently in the first year of Candidacy for the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Arlington. He and his wife, Rebecca (Becky), are members of St. Clare of Assisi parish in Clifton, VA, where they lead the formation program for those planning to enter the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Mr. Chris Vander Woude Mr. Chris Vander Woude Coach Vander Woude is a 2002 graduate of Christendom College and has been the Athletic Director since 2007. In addition to being the head men's basketball and soccer coach, Chris oversees the athletic department and its 7 varsity intercollegiate sports as well as the intramural program on campus. He is responsible for the scheduling of all varsity sports as well as the contact and recruitment of future Crusaders. He is dedicated to helping form young Christian men and women through the athletic program at Christendom. Chris enjoys participating in student formational activities on campus and dabbling in database and website design in his spare time—when playing sports isn't an option. Mr. James Hannon Mr. James Hannon James graduated from Christendom in 2011, with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Theology. Originally from Massachusetts, he worked as a Resident Assistant in his senior year at Christendom and is happy to be working with the Student Life team again as the Residence Director. Miss Katy Ott Miss Katy Ott Ms. Ott was raised in Northwest Ohio and graduated from John Carroll University in 2003 with a Psychology major and Communications minor. In 2009 she obtained her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Toledo. She has experience in Residence Life as well as in both planning and participating in study abroad programs to Canada and the United Kingdom. Ms. Ott began as the Associate Director in August of 2010. In her free time, Ms. Ott likes to read, cook, study Italian, and learn about the world through travel. Contact Katy Ott by email at

Miss Elizabeth Walsh Miss Elizabeth Walsh Elizabeth was raised in Minnesota and is a 2011 graduate of Christendom College (History major and Classics minor). She worked in Student Life as an RA for 2 years, and Head RA her senior year. She enjoys painting, catering, and gardening. Mr. Gabe Schuberg Mr. Gabe Schuberg Gabe Schuberg graduated from Christendom with a BA in English Language and Literature in 2012. During his time at Christendom, he served on the Student Activities Council, and was appointed Student Body President in his senior year.
