Rev. Mark Byrne, SOLT

Fr. Mark Byrne is the Assistant Chaplain assigned to the College by the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) for the academic year, 2012-2013. Fr. Mark was born in 1960 in Dublin, Ireland, where his mother and married brother live.

Fr. Mark graduated from the University of Ireland, Dublin College, in 1984 with a B.A. in Psychology. He later attended the University of Kansas, receiving a Ph.D in Educational Psychology and Research in 1993. That summer he started novitiate with Our Lady’s Society in New Mexico, after which he completed his academic studies for priesthood at The Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome. Fr. Mark was ordained a priest in 1998 and in the years following was assigned to various missions of Our Lady’s Society including England, Corpus Christi, Texas, St. Anne’s Chippewa Nation Reservation, North Dakota and Buffalo, New York. Returning to Rome in 2002, Fr. Mark served as a chaplain to the University of Dallas Rome Program and the Christendom Rome Program, completing an S.T.D. in 2007 in spiritual theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). Further pastoral assignments followed in England, Wales, Ireland and the USA.
