Christendom College is pleased to announce that Dr. Andrew Beer has accepted a full-time position in the Classical and Early Christian Studies Department.  Having earned his PhD from the University of Virginia, Beer has worked this semester as a Visiting Lecturer at the college, teaching sections of elementary and intermediate Latin.

"I am honored to receive this promotion and grateful to all the students, faculty, chaplains, administrators, and staff who make teaching at the college deeply delightful,” Beer said. “It is a joy to call this community home."

Beer earned his BA from Hillsdale College in Michigan and his MA from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. In April of 2012, Beer completed his doctoral dissertation at UVA. Entitled "Socrates and the Art of Healing Souls: A Study in Socratic Rhetoric," an excerpt of his dissertation appears in the Winter 2012 issue of Instaurare, Christendom’s quarterly magazine.
